Prom dress – quick lookback

Do you remember the prom dress I made last month?

The girl got voted promqueen 😀 Although I didn´t know that we do that in Austria…

I didn´t get any pictures of the prom itself so far, I only have one more for you, from the final dress rehersal. My sister told me that she loves her dress, so I´m happy 🙂

I think I need a dress like this for myself, I like the classy feel of it…

Here comes the bride

Today was the wedding. The wheaterforecas wasn´t so positive but it stayed very nice and sunny during the ceremony. It was set in the vineyard of one of the hills around Vienna. You could see the whole town behind the bride and groom.

But let´s start at the beginning. We were led to the vineyard and sat down on green wooden benches, facing the (nervous) groom. Then a musician started to play the zither, a traditional austrian instrument. With this, the bride walked towards us with her father. She looked so amazingly beautiful, the dress was perfect for her!

After the ceremony the flowergirls blew soap bubbles which looked totally awesome!

Without further ado, the bride:

With this, I close the wedding dress project very happy and satisfied and yes, proud!

Twin baby clothes, round 2

As I mentioned before, a friend of mine is pregnant with twins. So my brain went again in crazy sewing fit mode and I made another round of baby clothes a few weeks back. It´s so much fun to make, everything is so tiny and takes up hardly any fabric.

I cut up all the little pattern pieces at once, so my living room floor soon looked like this:

After sewing it was a little less chaotic:

I used the pattern from Schnabelina for the bodys, the bibs and the pants. The hats are from Klimperklein and are really fast to sew up. Baby clothes are great to eliminate any scraps of fabric! And isn´t the green one awesome? Guitar playing potatoes with sombreros! I already gave her the things a few weeks back and she loves them!

Renfrew top and Ottobre jeans

Today I finally cut out my Renfrew top pattern from Sewaholic. I wasn´t planning on sewing it today, it was more a result of a frustrating search in my flat for something lost. I couldn´t find it so I needed a bit of feel-good-sewing. I had a chocolate brown cotton jersey in my stash which was a bit floppy (can I use floppy for describing a fabric??). Anyway, I used Framilion elastic to stabilize the shoulder seams so they don´t wear out. I cut out the pattern in size 4, which fits my bust size but is a bit to narrow for my waist and hip size according to the measurement sheet. As it turns out next time I still have room to take 1 or 2 centimeters in. But it fits very comfortable and I think this is going to be a go-to shirt pattern for me.

I made the pants already a week ago. I´m in desperate need for some new pants, the majority of mine are torn in some place. I bought a navy and white striped denim fabric with a little stretch in it. The strips are so narrow, if you look at the fabric too long you´ll get dizzy 🙂

I used my favorite pant pattern, the Lady fit out of the Ottobre magazine in german size 36.

ImageAs i don´t seem able to take a decent picture of me in the pants today, there are only these detail shots. And yes, I used an olive green zipper because I didn´t have a black or white one anymore. The pants are very comfortable, they have just the right hight on my upper hip.

Good night!
